In the eCommerce world, happiness can be defined
as "qualified website traffic". Here are eight ways we
can bring more qualified traffic to your site ... and
generate greater returns from your Internet
investment:
#1: (Re) Branding
We recently searched Google for a "CPA". All of the
top 10 web pages returned had "CPA" as part of their
domain name. We tapped Yahoo for "Pinecrest
business" references, and saw that 7 of the first 10
listings had either "Pinecrest" or "business" in their web
address. And when we went to MSN Search seeking
a "Broward dentist", 5 of the first 6 matches had
either "Broward" or "dentist" in their domain name, and
2 of the top 3 had both.
Web pages that rank high on keyword searches get far
more qualified website traffic than those that don't.
Your domain name will impact where you rank, and we
can help you choose (or transfer to) the best possible
name for your business objectives.

#2: (Re) Hosting |
 |
You may have seen the cartoon with a canine on a
keyboard. The caption reads "On the Internet, no one
knows you're a dog." Maybe so ... maybe no: If you are
using a sub-domain or free hosting service, those
pop-up ads and top-of-page banners may be saving
you a
few cents a day, but they may also be hurting your
image and costing you business. And if first-time
prospects have problems downloading your pages due
to slow servers or service outages, don't expect them
to return.
If your website gives visitors a pleasurable experience,
they will come back for more. If your present web
hosting platform doesn't contribute to that experience,
we can help you migrate to one that will.

#3: (Re) Design |
 |
The World Wide Web is an ever-evolving, multimedia
canvas. Web pages can be built with a scanned logo
and a few lines of HTML, or a million dollars worth of
FLASH animation and JAVA coding. Those fancy,
five-megabyte intro animations can be breathtakingly
impressive if you have a T1 line, but few people will
wait for
the ten minutes it takes to download them using AOL
and a dial-up modem.
If your web pages were built with a do-it-yourself
toolkit, or if you are using frames or slow-loading GIF
buttons, then it may be time for a facelift. We will
apply state-of-the-art technologies in (re)designing
your website. More importantly, we will apply reason
and restraint: Your web pages will be attractive in
terms of delivery as well as appearance.
People will come ... and they will come back.

#4: Keyword Targeting |
 |
Your market may never find you unless you rank high on
the right keywords in major search engines. To do that,
you must target the keywords OTHERS might use when
looking for products or services like yours. For example,
you may be an "otorhinolaryngologist", but to most of
us you are an "ear nose and throat doctor":
Yahoo
shows 1,820 references for "otorhinolaryngologist", but
569,000 references for "ear nose and throat doctor".
So, what should you target? That depends. If you want
physician referrals, you might
choose "otorhinolaryngologist". If you want to attract
patients directly, you might opt for "ear nose and
throat doctor".
Keyword targeting begins with a context index, and we
have a proven, proprietary method for building one that
will get results.

#5: Keyword Optimization |
 |
Knowing which keywords to target is important.
Knowing how to optimize for those keywords is equally
important. Keyword optimization is the art and science
of coding web pages so as to
(1)
maximize the likelihood that the page will rank high
in search engine results for targeted keywords; and at
the same time
(2)
minimize the likelihood that the page ranking will be
penalized for spamming an index; while
(3)
keeping it all
transparent to the typical web page visitor.
Keyword optimization goes far beyond the proper use of
META KEYWORD tags ... and we know how far to go.

#6: Link Promotion |
 |
Links are a great way to increase website traffic,
especially if they are free or reciprocal links. A word of
caution about paid or "sponsored" links: We have a
friend who recently paid $90 to have a link included for
3 months in a directory claiming "300,000 hits a month".
Sounds like a lot of exposure, but actually:
A "hit" is a
server request, and each time a web page is accessed,
an average of 10 hits are generated. So, 300,000 hits
boils down to 30,000 visits. The directory had a
separate page for the 50 states, so that's an average
of 600 visits per page. Her listing was on a page with
24 others, which yields an optimistic expectation of 24
visits (600/25) per month. That means she paid $90 for
an expectation of 72 (24*3) visits.
Was that a good deal? Time will tell. The important
thing is to place as many links to your site as you can,
and know what you're buying if you pay for a listing.
We can help you with both.

#7: Search Engine Submission |
 |
Jetsetters know that the coolest venues often have no
signs to betray their location to the public. Instead,
they rely on "buzz" and the old velvet rope trick (which
is really a sign, after all) to bring in the right clientele.
We have not seen either of these approaches
successfully applied to generating qualified website
traffic.
If you build it, they won't come ... unless you tell
them it is there.
That means submitting your
website to as
many search engines and directories as you can. There
are two ways to accomplish this: Either (1) prepare to
spend several weeks accessing search engine submit
pages and filling out online directory listing forms; OR
(2) let us use specialized software to automate the
process, and submit your site to hundreds of online
reference sources in just a few hours.

#8: Search Engine Positioning |
 |
In the eCommerce arena, the secret to generating
qualified traffic is: LOCATION ... LOCATION ...
LOCATION! It's the same as in retail, just with two
variations: One is that instead of trying to get
customers into your store, the goal is to get visitors
onto your website. The other is that in the real world,
to do that requires being on the right corner, while in
cyberspace it requires rank monitoring, activity tracking
and webpage tuning to assure that your site shows up
in the right searches.
The process is called "search
engine positioning" ... the output is top rankings on
Internet search engines and directories like Google,
Yahoo, MSN and AOL Search ... the result is qualified
website traffic.
We are PROVEN positioning experts ... and here are the
numbers:
-
99% of all internet users reference search engines.
-
97% of all that traffic goes to the first 20 websites
returned by a search.
-
95% of Bruce Arnold's clients hold 3 or more Top 20
rankings for key terms in major search engines.
-
75% of Bruce Arnold's clients hold 2 or more NUMBER
ONE rankings for key terms in major search engines.
